Welcome
Native
to
western North America, the Mountain pine beetle,
also know as the
Black Hills beetle or Rocky Mountain pine beetle, has resulted in the
loss of millions of pine
trees. When a
beetle lays her eggs, the tree eventually dies. They quickly
move from one tree to next, killing each tree they come in contact
with.
This beetle progression does not rot the tree or destroy the integrity
and usefulness of the wood however. Rather it leaves the wood with a
beautiful bluish tint. Those who love
unique rustic appearances will love this wood in all its forms.
